Effects of dietary mineral bioplex in pregnant and lactating sow diets on piglet performance and physiological characteristics R. Bras. Zootec.
Bertechini,Antônio Gilberto; Fassani,Edison José; Brito,Jerônimo Ávito Gonçalves de; Barrios,Priscilla Rochele.
A total of thirty-six Landrace × Large White sows were inseminated with semen of Large White boars and studied in late pregnancy (30 days pre-partum) and lactation phases to determine the effects of trace mineral supplementation in organic (bioplex) and inorganic forms at two levels of supplementation (1 and 2 kg/t) on the reproductive performance of the females and on piglet performance and physiologic characteristics until weaning at 21 days of age. The trace mineral supplements contained 0.0075% selenium, 2.50% zinc, 1.00% manganese, 4.00% iron, 0.25% copper and 0.01% chromium. The experimental design was completely randomized in a 2 × 2 factorial scheme with nine replicates each. The piglets were weighed at birth and at weaning (21 days) and were given...

Effects of organic mineral dietary supplementation on production performance and egg quality of white layers Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.
Fernandes,JIM; Murakami,AE; Sakamoto,MI; Souza,LMG; Malaguido,A; Martins,EN.
This trial aimed at evaluating the effect of organic trace mineral supplementation of commercial layer diets on productive performance and egg quality. One-hundred-ninety-two Hy Line W36 white 69-w-old layers were distributed into a completely randomized design with three treatments, and eight replicates, with eight birds each. Treatments consisted of a basal diet supplemented with inorganic trace minerals (R1), and two others experimental diets containing 0.250 ppm (R2) and 0.500 ppm (R3) of an organic source of zinc, manganese, and selenium. Feed intake (g/bird/day), feed conversion ratio (kg/dozen egg and kg/kg egg), egg weight (g), egg production (%), thin and cracked eggshells (%), specific gravity (g/mL), Haugh Units, total egg solids (%), yolk...

Egg quality during storage and deposition of minerals in eggs from quails fed diets supplemented with organic selenium, zinc and manganese R. Bras. Zootec.
Gravena,Rodrigo Antonio; Marques,Rafael Henrique; Roccon,Josiane; Picarelli,Juliana; Hada,Fabricio Hirota; Silva,Janaina Della Torre da; Queiroz,Sandra Aidar de; Moraes,Vera Maria Barbosa de.
Three experiments with Japanese laying quails were performed aiming to assess the effect of supplementation with minerals in organic form on the egg quality during storage and the deposition of minerals in eggs. The assessments of each experiment were related to one mineral, thus, experiment 1 assessed the supplementation with selenium in 0.35-, 0.70- and 1.05-mg/kg levels of feed; experiment 2, the supplementation with zinc in 50-, 100- and 150-mg/kg levels of feed; and experiment 3, the supplementation of manganese with 60-; 120- and 180-mg/kg levels of feed. All diets were evaluated compared with a control diet without mineral supplementation. Birds were distributed in a completely randomized experimental design, with eight birds per plot and six...

Performance, carcass yield, and meat quality of broilers supplemented with organic or inorganic zinc Arq. Bras. Med. Vet. Zootec.
Bueno,F.R.; Silva,C.A.; Oba,A.; Almeida,M.; Medeiros,L.G.; Pitarello,A.S.; Shinyashike,A.T..
ABSTRACT A total of 640 one-day-old Cobb broiler chicks, half male and half female, were reared up to 49 days of age. A completely randomized 2 × 4 factorial design was used. Experimental treatments consisted of four levels of organic zinc supplementation and one control (inorganic zinc supplementation) and two levels of sex (female and male), with four replicates of 16 birds per experimental plot. Animal performance, carcass and cut yields, and meat quality were evaluated. Feed intake increased with zinc supplementation. Broilers that received the lowest level of organic zinc showed better feed conversion than those fed an equivalent level of inorganic zinc. Increased levels of organic zinc reduced the abdominal fat content in females but impaired the...
